Jennifer Lopez started off her career with acting, who hasn't seen her in Anaconda? 3 years after Anaconda, she released her first hit-single: If you had my love and I must say, that up to this moment, few people talked about JLo´s ass. Although Jenny from the block explained in an interview how she always used to be bullied for having a fat ass. Looking back at the video If you had my love, I must say that Jennifer's butt doesn't look all that different from Britney's ass or most other celebrity asses.

December 1999 – a story quickly spreads that Jennifer Lopez has supposedly insured her ass for an astonishing 1 billion dollars. Wow, insured her ass, for once we could all rest assured that JLo's ass is insured for... theft? Damage? I personally have never heard of anyone permanently damaging their ass. Later on, tabloid backed out a little, claiming that Jennifer did not insure just her ass for 1 billion, but her entire body. Surprisingly, pound-for-pound the singer's boobs we're more generously valued than her hiney ($100 million per breast vs. $300 million for legs and butt combined, according to the Post).

Shortly after releasing her debute single, Jennifer released her first album, On the 6 wich sky-rocketed her career as a singer. In the video of her second hit-single, Waiting for tonight, Jennifer finally showed her voluptuous latina body. Her rounded figure soon became the feature of many magazines and more often than not on the cover. In 2000, Jennifer was voted sexiest woman of the year by an FHM poll. Think that's impressive? Jennifer Lopez was the only woman in the world to win this FHM poll twice in a row! This means that two years long, men all-over the world agreed that Jennifer Lopez was the hottest piece of ass around.

There are probably some sceptics saying that Jennifer Lopez is obese but what can you say when she claimed the sexiest woman in the world title twice. Jennifer Lopez certainly made it easy er for woman around the world with voluptuous bottoms.

JLo vaguely denied the rumours:

"I don't know where they got it from," she said to reporters when questioned about the tabloid allegations. "When I heard the story I thought it was very funny."

Her agent's response was even more vague: "At this time we cannot confirm or deny this information."

Jennifer decided that she might have not been crystal clear in her previouws communications with the media, so in an August 2000 interview Lopez did with BeatBoxBetty.com, in which she was asked to name the "wildest rumors" she had heard about herself, she replied:

"The craziest," she said, "was the Billion Dollar Butt one. It was on the front page of the paper, here in New York. I happened to be in New York that week. It was funny."

The interviewer pressed on: "So you haven't insured your body?"

"I think that's what I'm trying to say here," Lopez replied.

The Ass Aesthetics

But what makes a great ass? It depends on who you ask, there are different trends in every culture and sub-culture. Ask a Brazilian, and you will most certainly hear stories about big round asses, but in the western world, the tight slim ass is still by far the most popular. Any fashion magazine or teen pop idol can confirm this, except for Jennifer Lopez. How come JLo's ass is big, but not unattractive? Girls and woman all-over the world are pressured to have a slim ass, but Jenny from the block gets away with it.
