The entire time Jess was on stage, she had her mind on one thing, Nick. All she was thinking about was him and the way he had looked at her.

He made her feel like the most beautiful woman in the entire world, just by the way he looked at her. Jessica didn't understand it, but there was just something about him that drew her in. She really wanted to get to know him better.

Jessica came off the stage with the biggest smile on her face. She was happy that her performance went well, but she was more excited that now she would be able to talk to Nick some more. She hoped that he would agree to write some more songs for her.

Jessica ran up to Nick. "You were amazing out there" Nick complemented her. "Thanks." Jessica said, a little out of breath. "About that song you wrote, well, I just loved it, and I recorded it about a week ago, and I have the final copy that I would like you to listen too." Jessica said with the biggest smile on her face. "I also wanted to ask you if you would consider writing another song for my album?" she asked. "Sure I could do that for you." Nick said, as he was considering asking her out. He decided not to, but he thought to ask her something else. "Jess, I written a duet, it's called 'Where You Are' and I would like to know if you would record that with me. You’re the only singer I know that could give that song justice." Nick asked her figuring it would give them an excuse to meet again. "Sure and thank you" Jessica said nearly speechless. To receive a complement from him was such a big deal for her. "Do you want to talk about it over dinner?" Nick asked not realizing what he had said until he heard her response. "Are you asking me on a date Nick Lachey?" she said flirtatiously. Nick felt so embarrassed for a second and then realized that she did want to go out with him, so he went with it. "Well, I guess I am Miss. Simpson," he said with a smile. "Okay then." She smiled back. "I'll pick you up at 6, you’re staying at the Hilton right?" he asked her. "At the Hilton down the road, how did you know? Are you stalking me" she laughed. "No" he laughed "The Hilton usually reserves certain floors for the performers for the concerts. Almost everyone here is staying at the Hilton," he explained to her. "I'm in room 2014, what room are you in?" he asked. "Room 2011" she informed him. "Okay, I'll pick you up there, see you at 6," he said and then walked away with a huge smile on his face. "Can't wait" Jess said just above a whisper as she walked of to go tell Mel and Ash. Everything was just going perfect; she just hoped that her dad would let her go.
