Nick’s stomach was doing tumbersaults. He was so nervous and did not know what Joe was going to say.

Nick and Joe stepped outside the door and out into the hallway. Nick did not know what to say so he waited for Joe to speak. “You took care of my daughter last nigh, and I appreciate that. But, she is just 16 and she spent the night in your hotel room. You‘re a lot older then her too. Quite frankly, I am not happy about this.” Joe said firmly. Nick did not know what to say, and Joe just continued. “I am not going to tell Jess what to do with her personal life, but if you ever, and I mean ever do anything to hurt her, I assure you, you will pay.” Joe informed Nick as he stood there frozen. “Mr. Simpson, I swear to you, I would never hurt her. And I know she spent the night in my room, but nothing happened, and nothing will” Nick told Joe. “I just wanted to make that clear. I have some work to get done. I‘ll be back later” Joe told Nick before leaving as Nick breathed a sigh of relief. Nick turned around and went back into his suite. Nick walked into the sitting room to where he found Jessica on the couch in tears.
