A few minutes after Joe had left Nick got up off the floor and pulled Jess up with him.

He then picked her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. She laid her head on his shoulder. He walked out onto the balcony and sat on the rocking chair out there.

They sat in silence for a few minutes until Jessica spoke up. “Nick” she whispered softly by his ear with her hand on his cheek. “I‘m so sorry for everything that happened and-” she was cut silenced by his finger on her lips. “Shhhh… baby, you have nothing to be sorry for. Don‘t worry about it,” his finger was then replaced by his lips. He tenderly kissed her. Jessica was surprised, but so happy. There were butterflies in her stomach and her heart was soaring. No one had ever made her feel like that before in her entire life. Jessica was trying to catch her breath. Nick had literally taken her breath away. Nick didn’t know what had come over him. He felt so awful like he had taken advantage of her vulnerability. From the moment he had laid eyes on her, that is what he had wanted to do, and now all he felt was guilt. “I‘m sorry, I shouldn‘t have-” he was cut off by her finger on his lips, just as he had done to her. “Shhhh… baby, you have nothing to be sorry about.” she told him, before her lips replaced her finger.
