Chapter 45

Jessica Simpson - Heart of Innocence Posted by jenny Tuesday, 24 January 2006

Jessica had enjoyed it, that is until images began to flash through her head.

The horrid memories of what Art had done to her came flooding back. The fact that it was nick kissing and touching her and not Art didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered was that there were hands on her and they weren’t her own. Truth was she hated being touched. Sometimes a simple handshake was too much for her.

Jessica curled up on the bed and began to cry hysterically. All the hurt, anger and resentment that she had pent up was now being released. She just needed to cry.

Nick slowly got up. He had fallen onto the floor when she pushed him. He was beating himself up for pushing her to far. He was hesitant at first, but realized, she needed comfort, so he slowly sat down on the bed beside her. He held and cradled her. Jessica’s cries subsided and Nick felt it was his time to apologize “I‘m sorry” he softly spoke. With that Jessica began to cry again. She was beating herself up. ‘Why did I do that’ she kept asking herself ‘he wasn’t doing anything wrong’ ‘you screwed up jess, now he’s never gunna wanna touch you again’ and ‘you just blew any chance of a good relationship with him’ she continued. She couldn’t stop crying and then she heard Nick again “Jess, I‘m so sorry” and she couldn’t take it any more. He was apologizing to her when she felt she needed to apologize to him. It pained her to think that he thought he had done wrong. Jessica finally stopped crying and sat up next to him in his arms. “Nick, baby, you didn‘t do anything wrong. I‘m the one who should be sorry.” she whispered. “I shouldn‘t have pushed, I should have known better. My hands wandered too low, and baby, I‘m so sorry about that” he apologized. Jessica didn‘t know how to quite put her feelings into words, but she had to try. She didn‘t want Nick feeling that he had pushed her. “Baby, you didn‘t.” she paused before going on. “I liked it. I did. It‘s just…” she couldn’t find the words and her head turned away. Nick took her head in his hands to make her look at him. “Baby, you can tell me anything” he assured her. “Memories of…Art. They came back to me and…I..I couldn‘t think, I just acted. I‘m so sorry Nick, I didn‘t mean to push you off of me.” Jessica began to cry again. “Jess, please, baby don‘t cry. I‘m not angry at you if that‘s what you‘re thinking.” he told her with concern in his voice. “You‘re not?” Jessica asked surprised. “How could I be mad at you?” he smiled. “You‘re wonderful” she told him. “Well I have been told” he joked. Then he noticed sadness across her face once more. “Baby, what else is bothering you?” he asked her. “Will you…never mind” she felt embarrassed asking this question. “Baby. I told you, you can tell me anything. Now, please tell me what is bothering you.” he reassured her. “Will you ever touch me again?” she asked so low Nick strained to hear her. “Only if you want me to.” he told her. “I do.” she whispered as he wrapped his arms around her tighter and she moved onto his lap and nick gently kissed her hair.
