Nick, Jessica, and Joe went inside. “Dad” Jessica spoke softly.

Joe turned around to look at her. “There‘s something I need to tell you” she told him. Joe nodded for her to continue. “Yesterday at graduation, he was there.” she said just above a whisper. “Why didn‘t you tell me” he exclaimed. Jessica knew that she was in trouble. She should have told him the moment she spotted him, but she didn’t. “I know I should have told you, but I was going to tell you today. I didn‘t want his presence to ruin my big day. I thought that if I told you today, it wasn‘t going to make that much of a difference.” she explained. Joe was angry, but he did understand her reasons behind her actions. Jessica and Nick told Joe everything that had happened, and Joe couldn’t help but be proud of her for defending herself the way she did. “He deserved more then that” Joe mumbled, while they chuckled a bit. Then they told him the rest of what happened. They all went upstairs for bed. Jessica headed upstairs and into her room and as Nick was about to follow, Joe stopped him.
