“I have some news" Joe was saying as he walked into the family room where Tina, Jess, and Ashlee were sitting.

Jessica sat up and looked at her father as he sat in the chair across from the couch. "What is it dad?" Ashlee spoke up first. "You know that conversation I had with Art? Well, I recorded it." Joe began when Jessica cut in "Really! He confessed on that tape! That means you can prosecute him!" "I'm sorry Jessie, but I can't. I just made several calls, and it won't be admissible in court." Her dad said as he saw the look of disappointment across all three of their faces. "I'm sorry that it didn't work Jess, I don't know what I can do." "Its okay dad, you tried. Maybe he'll get the message and will just stay away from me from now on, you know?" Jess began to say when her mother started in "Well, with that restraining order, you can arrest him if he tries to contact her." "Yeah, I think that will scare him away." Joe said, hoping that his bluff worked. Truth was that there was no restraining order, and no matter how many times he tried for it, he kept getting turned down. All he could do was hope that she would be okay, and that he would be there to protect her if that time ever came.
